Smart people those Iowans. As if the Iowas Caucus was phony as a three-dollar bill, they have come up with their next environmentally clean, no tax breaks, etc.; they have come up with the "Iowa Sample Poll", which is even more meaningless as the "Caucus. People have to pay "to sample" so money talks. Maybe they could come to Colorado and help our state make money on scams or do they want to keep their monopoly? There are some real creative people in the corn belt.

  1. Its a fundraiser for the Iowa Republican Party and the Iowa Democratic Party in years when they don't have an incumbent president. Nothing more and nothing less. To consider it to be anything more than a fundraiser is a problem created by the national media. However, to call the caucus phony is a bit of a stretch. It is a part of the process of how each party picks their candidate, just like the primaries and caucuses every state conducts. The fact that there are less populated states at the beginning of that process (Iowa, New Hampshire , South Carolina) forces the candidates to hit the road to interact with people and not rely solely on spending money on a media campaign in highly populated areas. Having said all that, you will get no argument that our political system is almost entirely financially driven and is prone to corruption.
