The evening of the day Dr. M.l. King was shot I was in my bachelor apartment correcting papers. At 7:00 a special report was going to come on one of the national TV companies was going to have a special report on the day's happenings This was before CNN and closed captioning. At approximately 7:01 a parent of one of my students called to tell me about all the problems she was having with her son. This was before I was a school counselor but the kid was flunking my class so I listened. I saw pictures but no narration. A little after 8:00 we finally finished. I had to read the details in the next day's paper.
Went to see the movie "It's Complicated" this afternoon. It was about divorced couples not that much younger than me. I enjoyed it but it may not appeal to some of the folks in their 20's and 30's.
