This is from a story in yesterday's USA Today.
The president of New York University makes more than $1.3 million; Columbia U. over$1.3 million; Univ. of Pennsylvania over $1.2 million; Yale over $1.2 million; and Southern Cal over $1.1 million. The chief investment officer at Yale makes over $4.3 million and several professors in medical schools make between $2 and $4 million per year.
The Southern Cal football coach makes over $4.3 million and the basketball coach at Duke earns over $3.7 million. Something is wrong. Universities and colleges are out begging for money, cutting staff and entire departments-tuition isn't going down. It isn't just private industry that pays a lot for leadership at the top and for sports.
